Skip the Cruise and Chive on Vieques

This post is inspired by one of aunt's postings on Facebook a few days ago, it seems they were the victims of an unpleasant cruise. Li Li and I just don't understand the lure of the cruise in any way, shape, or form. My parents have gone on a few cruises and enjoyed them but they still had their complaints on the overall experience. Note these are the same people that came to Vieques one summer and their only complaint was not enough air conditioning in the house. This was after I told my sister a number of times to book a house with A/C! Why would we want to listen to someone that has been to Vieques many times? Being the youngest of the family is not viewed as being the most knowledgeable in my family. Only the eldest know best and seniority rules, well I disagree with their train of thought! The one who travels to Vieques MOST knows BEST!

Oh yeah, back to the cruise rant, sorry for tracking off to family rant.

Here we go!

Why on earth would you want to get on a floating cesspool with 5,000 other people? Go to a port with 5,000 other people at the same time? Go to dinner with 5,000 other people at the same time? Hit the beaches with 5,000 people at the same time? Go shopping with 5,000 other people at the same time? And my all time favorite. Go to the bathroom and get sick with 5,000 other people at the same time? Don't forget being in the dark with 5,000 other people floating with no power. That just sounds like loads of fun please sign us up, NOT!

I do have words for these types of travelers with one simple statement.

Uninspired, lost in life, too scared to go off the beaten path to the true paradise that Mother Nature created.

We feel sorry for the traveler that has to endure such an awful vacation after working so hard all year. You earned your trip or vacation so enjoy it! Get off the main road of big advertisers and their sorry excuse for a vacation. Don't travel by what you see on television that some big travel company says is the way to travel. You will not be smiling like the people in the commercials and all of the fun stuff you see cost extra. Don't forget to read the fine print of your vacation package.

My response to my aunt's post on Facebook was the following:

Vieques Island doesn't move has no elevators sports over twenty beaches that you can have all to yourself. Just Sayin'
